What is Milk Thistle and why do people take it?

Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) is a purple flowering plant in the same family as ragweed and daisies. It is believed to contain anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It has been used for thousands of years as an herbal remedy, especially for digestive system support, most notably liver, gallbladder, and kidney health.*

 

Can you take Milk Thistle every day?

It is suggested that one can take up to 700 mg of Milk thistle up to three times a day for up to 24 weeks. After that, we would recommend cycling off for a while. Our gummies use a 10:1 Milk thistle extract equivalent to 1,000 mg of dried Milk thistle in a two-gummy serving. Our label recommends taking two gummies once a day, well under the 2,100 mg daily dose limit.*

 

What is the sweetener in these Sugar Free gummies?

We use a combination of Maltitol and Isomalt to sweeten these delicious gummies. Maltitol is a sugar alcohol with a sweetness that is 75-90% of the sweetness of sugar. Maltitol contains half the calories of sugar and has a low glycemic index (35-52) meaning it does not raise blood sugar levels as much as sugar.*
